This morning, the children requested a science experiment. We decided to explore what happens when Mentos are added to a fizzy drink.
First, we added one Mentos to see how high the eruption would go, and then we added three Mentos, which caused a much taller burst. For the final experiment, we added six Mentos to lemonade. The children thought that the Diet Coke produced a higher explosion. Afterwards, we felt the bottles of fizzy drink and discussed how empty they felt because all the gas had been released during the reactions.
